Bridging connections logo three 002

Bridging Connections is a project that has the ultimate aim to improve the wellbeing of vulnerable adults. To achieve this, a telephone befriending service has been designed to help decrease levels of social isolation and loneliness throughout the Liverpool community. Our goal is to build a supportive community for those who need it most. We aim to provide meaningful relationships to help boost an individuals self-esteem and confidence.

About the befriending project

Befriending is an interaction set up via a telephone call once a week and is monitored by us. This offers a reliable relationship to someone experiencing social isolation and loneliness.

Aims

  • Decrease social isolation and/or loneliness
  • Increase quality of life and well-being
  • To provide a positive and trusting relationship
  • To develop self-confidence, emotional growth and resilience

Volunteer to make a difference

Why should I volunteer

  • Supporting those in need
  • Decrease levels of social isolation
  • Improve vulnerable adults’ wellbeing and decrease levels of loneliness
  • Improve your self-confidence
  • Give back to your community
  • Work experience

What would I do as a volunteer

As a volunteer, we would ask for a minimum of 1 hour of volunteering a week. This would consist of a 1:1 phone call with a service user. You are there to give the service user someone to talk to, to brighten their day and to hold a meaningful conversation.
