Caring Connections is looking for volunteer peer mentors for The John Paul Project.
Peer Mentors will provide one to one support to veterans in need of support reducing levels of social isolation and integrating back into the local community.
Specific roles include:
- Providing support to mentees to set / achieve personal goals
- Providing signposting / support to access community services.
- Providing support to mentees to access wellbeing activities.
- Providing monitoring / evaluation of mentees progress.
This programme will be linked with the current support provided by the John Paul Project in the provision of psychological therapies to veterans / families. Individuals will be provided with a full mentoring training programme and provided with one to one support in their mentoring role. Ideally we are looking for veterans to become mentors however individuals who are experienced in working with veterans are welcome to apply.
